His favorite food is sushi (especially unagi and ikura); he loves his fish tank full of colorful African Ciclids; he can drink glasses and glasses of this odd-looking Vietnamese drink that has beans, green gelatin, and rice noodles; he likes clothing by Stucture, Old Navy, and Macy's, and his favorite color is green.
He loves fishing and all things music and DJ-oriented. He's got crates and crates of records lying around our apartment. And his coffin (DJ term for the housing of his turntables) takes up an entire wall in our living room. His nickname is DJ Gonzo because he likes mixing house and modern rock in his spare time. For this reason he's ecstatic that I am working for Beatnik (founded by none other than Thomas Dolby), which owns Mixman, an online mixing studio.
He and his coworker Ron also collect Star Wars figurines and are even more into the whole thing since Episode 1 came out. I was even nice enough to buy John a Queen Amidala poster that he won't take out of the wrapping because he doesn't want it to lose its value.
John's main hobby though, is racing R/C cars, which is a very detailed, adult hobby. It sounds like kid stuff, but trust me, it's not. He has a whole network of guys here in the Bay that race with him. He's also an excellent cook, which is good considering that I hate cooking! Not that I'm incapable of it (this is to my brother who loves to tease me about not cooking. Although he can't say much considering that his fiance doesn't cook either...), I just do NOT like doing it. Anyway, John is what you could call an international cook, which I suppose he gets from his mom. I keep telling him he should open up his own restaurant here in Foster City. He can cook almost anything of any type or ethnic origin, and do it more than well. My favorite dishes are his chicken adobo and his beef stew. My family always fights over who gets to keep him because he's such a great chef, but of course I get to keep him cuz he's my bear!
